FAQ'S: KEYSTONE STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2022
  • Will the State tournament be held in the western part of the state every year?  No, we have already arranged for States to be held in Reading, PA, in 2024.  Keystone States was to be in Reading this year but had to be moved due to a scheduling conflict with the arena. In 2025, the tournament will be located North Eastern Region.  Our goal is to move the tournament every year to accommodate all of the athletes and families in Pennsylvania.

  • What prize do State Qualifiers win?  Each qualifier will win a new singlet that is theirs to  keep.  They are required to wear this regional singlet at the State Tournament. They will also receive a shirt representing their region.

  • Will the kids have to wrestle for " true second" place?  No, we do not believe in this philosophy.  These athletes will likely never experience this situation during their wrestling career.  Our regionals qualify multiple wrestlers, so it would not be necessary.

  • Can my athlete change weight class?  Yes, the wrestler is able to change weight class at their designated Regional Tournament with no fee.  Of course, that must then be their weight class for the State Tournament.  Girls deadline to change weight class, by email, is noon, Friday March 10.  No weight changes will be accepted after that date.

  • States is being held during the NCAA's.  This is true.  Because of the limited availability of venues we are scheduled for the same weekend as the NCAA's.  We have arranged with our partnering hotels and the Kovalchick Convention & Athletic Complex to have the college competition available for viewing in common areas.  Your Keystone State Championships team is dedicated to make this weekend about that young athletes of PA that have earned their opportunity to compete in Indiana at the state championships.

  • Will there be a Parade of Champions?  Yes, yes, yes!  We will, again, celebrate our athletes in style.

  • Will there be a coach's pass or multi-day pass?  Yes, We will have these passes available to accommodate parents, families, and coaches

THIS IS YOUR TOURNAMENT, OUR COMMITMENT IS TO MAKE IT GREAT!

Your Keystone State Championships team is committed to transparency, and being available for comments, suggestions, and critique.
